After coming back from a trip to France to meet with a penpal and her showing me Paris, her hometown, and the Mediterranean, I came back home rejuvenated a life reaffirmed.
My alcoholism reared its ugly head a few times while over there and I vowed to take control of it. I had also decided to upgrade my schooling in order to take a few university courses because over there everyone asked me "Do you go to uni, do you go to uni?" To which I embarrassingly would reply with a negative, not realizing at the time that post-secondary in France is free, when not incredibly affordable otherwise. Unfortunately addiction set in again as I lost my confidence and my telephone conversations with the woman abroad became more disjointed and fatalistic, eventually culminating in our break-up - solely and indignantly my fault.

Half Buried Statue of an American Dog is written with Thomas from the Wicked Awesomes! partly about a dream he had about the title.

Half of these were written on the spot, recorded with a 10 dollar computer mic with a t-shirt over it. Mostly when I was a teenage nightmare and alcoholic. I would record one or two a night, sometimes more, until my computer crashed and wiped out my music for a second time and my digital recorder's files corrupted themselves.
