Right out of high school I moved into Edmonton with a few roommates. I signed my first lease on the back of some guys car in a hotel parking lot cross town and the deal was done. It was a very strange year. I slept on the floor in the closet I was living in, opting for the house to have a jam space/recording studio instead of me having a bedroom. My room only had space for a computer desk, my chair, and the fold out cushions I used as a bed, sleeping on the ground with the silverfish and woodlice. This album came from those tumultuous times of newfound freedoms and unrestricted substance abuse. Not recorded in the jam space, of course - nobody ever used that room. These were done on a practice amp, an MTV karaoke mic, 10 dollar computer mic, and a hacked version of AcidPro (being a bit of a hacked version of acid pro myself by then).

Half of these were written on the spot, recorded with a 10 dollar computer mic with a t-shirt over it. Mostly when I was a teenage nightmare and alcoholic. I would record one or two a night, sometimes more, until my computer crashed and wiped out my music for a second time and my digital recorder's files corrupted themselves.
